Against Magni, 130 HP works fine. I brought Mending touch to remove weakness. Just make sure you don't get hit by Devastating Hammer while casting Prot spirit, Mystic Regen/Vigor.

[skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill]
[skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill]
[skill]Mending Touch[/skill]
[skill]Ebon Dust Aura[/skill]
[skill]Staggering Force[/skill]
[skill]Mystic Vigor[/skill]
[skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill]
And a skill for distracting/PvE skill for degen/ench removal.

Had no problems. Although you need to have good timing against Mhenlo.

What was the 8th skill you used? I've been using a very similar build, but still get my a$$ handed to me. Why are you using Mending touch? Is it for the deep wound Bison inflicts?

Wait for Mhenlo to recast PS. Hit Rending Touch, Hit any attack..yer done.

Any of the Melee characters should not give you a problem because with EBA you can keep them blind 24/7. Even if they do have a conditions removal you can just re-apply it. and keep swinging away.

I know this worked for me the first time i tried it. Strange thing is i haven't come up against any casters in the tournament except for Mhenlo.

But you might want to do what Bassu suggested and go /Mo to bring Mending Touch in case of you get blinded. That the worst thing that could happen to any melee based character.

Yup, I used Mending Touch in case I fight against Gwen (she uses Signet of Midnight).
8th skill I used was Rending Touch I guess, or other enchantment removal...

I used the below build on my assassin and you can do the same with the dervish since the only things that mattered at the Rit skills not the sin skills. I would use Avatar of Balthazar and veil of thorns to keep him cripped so you can run around to summon more spirits if needed.

I was also having a hard time just beating Bison on my Assassin so I got a tip to use spirits instead. Well here is the build that I came up with:
A/Rt BisonKiller Get a 20% HSR & HST staff from some collector
Channeling 11
Communing 11
Shadow Arts 8 + 1 + 1
Equipment
I grabbed the Equipment from Xandra after I beat her
Get as much health and Energy from your armor as you can. I opted for a mix of Attuement, Viate, Survivor and Radiant Mods for my armor. However energy is more important.
Skills
Shadow Form (Elite)
Feigned Neutrality
Painful Bond
Pain
Bloodsong
Anguish
Shadowsong
Vampirism

Strategy
Okay when the gate opens do not run all the way out. Look down you will see two lines where the gate was closed. Stand right behind the line closest to your opponent. If you do this the opponent will not aggro you and you will have time to setup. Place all of your spirits out and then right to the far right corner on your side. Just hang a right as soon as you leave the gate. When your opponent comes in range use Painful Bond for the double dmg from Anguish and extra damage for all. Now let your spirits keep aggro do not wand. If you need to start placing more spirits. Usually Bison will be able to kill all the initial ones so I let pain get to at least half recharge before leaving. If needed use Fegined Neturality or Shadow Form to stay alive until the spirits kill Bison. Also, keep moving and keep some sprits up. I have never lost using this strategy against any foe. The damage is just way to much and they go down quick.

Aren't spirit spammers the best way to go in The norn torny?

Quoting:
Seef II from guildwars.incgamers.com

D/W
12+3+1 scythe, 8+1 myst, 10+1 earth

Wild Blow
Distracting Blow/Distracting Strike
Club of a Thousand Bears
Ebon Dust Aura*
You Move Like a Dwarf
Vital Boon
Signet of Pious Light
(optional)

Don't forget your PvE skills work. I had Armor of Sanctity in the last slot but it didn't really do me any good. Something for energy management or an IAS would be useful there. I'd suggest Flail, Mystic Vigor, or Meditation.
Defeated: The Great Zehtuka, Eve, Gwen, Warmaster Tydus, Vekk (not in that order)

Club of 1000 Bears knocks down your opponents, even the human ones. You Move Like a Dwarf can KD Magni when he uses the bear form, but it's 10e so use it sparingly. It's also cute to use it to KD Gwen as she comes in for the sig of midnight - FC affecting signets is such a pain now.

worked like a charm

He doesn't use Protective Spirit, interestingly. He has permanent 10% damage received. Check wiki, PS isn't even in his skill set. Your tactics work though, just make sure you Rend Healing Breeze instead. He still dies quickly if he has no regen.
